Fall is one of my favorite seasons for fashion, and it’s not solely about the clothing! There are numerous fantastic shoe styles that can diversify your outfits as the weather cools. One standout option is the boot. With various heel heights, shaft lengths, and designs, there’s an abundance of stylish and functional boots available.

As a former stylist, I always advocate for timeless boot styles. They’re investments that you can enjoy for years and pair with many outfits. Honestly, even if trends come and go, there are three essential boot styles that every wardrobe should include.

Tall, Heeled Boots

A tall, heeled boot is a timeless choice that you can incorporate into your collection for years. Since they pair well with more polished outfits, I suggest opting for the highest heel height that feels comfortable to you, typically between 2.5 inches and 3 inches for me.

When it comes to color, a brown shade is always a reliable option. Depending on your wardrobe, you can choose the tone of brown that suits you best. I personally adore a lighter, camel-like caramel hue that complements almost everything! Chocolate brown is also very much in style this year and serves as a fantastic alternative to black.

I particularly enjoy the heeled boots from Loeffler Randall. I’ve had mine for quite some time, and the leather has remained in great condition. Even with a heel height of 3.25 inches, they are surprisingly comfortable and versatile.

Flat, Tall Boots

A tall boot with a flat or very low heel will be your everyday favorite. These are incredibly versatile and can be worn with dresses, skirts, or even with pants tucked in.

If you don’t have a low-heeled tall boot yet, I suggest starting with a classic black leather option, like these riding boots. If you already own a traditional flat boot, consider adding a pair with a touch of western style for something different.

Low-Heeled Pointed-Toe Ankle Boots

Booties, or ankle boots, are absolutely essential in any wardrobe, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Opt for classic styles in either black or brown, as they can be paired with both full-length and ankle-length jeans effortlessly.

When choosing a low-heeled boot, aim for a kitten heel height to achieve a chic, polished appearance. A pointed-toe design will also help to elongate your legs. These options are among my current favorites!
